![]() Was the streamer I was following truly a malicious sociopath like people were saying, or was Twitter being Twitter? And obviously, I did not want to follow someone who was malicious, so I looked at what people were saying under these posts criticizing dream, and I thought well there has to be a point in this somewhere since so many people are agreeing he should be deplatformed etc. I usually stay out of it, but this had me curious. However, recently, out of all the dream controversy’s I’ve already seen, this is the largest amount of hate I’ve seen blow up. I stay away from toxicity which makes social platforms actually highly enjoyable to me, and I did the same as I started watching mc related things/content. And since then, although I haven’t gone as deep into the mc fandom as others may have, I’ve come to at least know a decent amount of how their online personas tend to be. I started watching a few mc streamers this year. This isn’t me being quirky about not joining the bandwagon, hype/viral/trendy train, I naturally am an analytical person. I enjoy doing research on both sides of an issue or even a viral post before making up my mind on an opinion about it. Secondly, I want to say I approach things usually without bias and I like to approach things in the most logical way possible. I do not want to mention their names on here because I don’t want to see a single instance of their names in relation to dream’s Twitter controversy mess. I’ll start with first and foremost, the most I knew about dream is what I had seen from the content that his friends made since I found and followed them first. (Also much too tired to fix grammar/punctuation, so bear w me) If you care enough about the issue and would like to see my perspective on this, go ahead and read. I’m going to be giving context, so this will be long. Mr Roth said that Mr Musk runs Twitter like a dictator.Hello, I’ve had a lot go through my mind recently because of the “dream controversy,” and I wanted to share my thoughts here. Ms Irwin had taken charge of trust and safety at Twitter since November, when former head Yoel Roth resigned. Mr Boreing said the company had told him that the policy remained in place, but was no longer explicitly stated. Twitter removed misgendering from its rules on harmful conduct earlier this year. The Daily Wire video, What Is A Woman?, features some instances of people referring to transgender individuals by different pronouns to those they have chosen. ![]() He recently hired Linda Yaccarino, an experienced advertising executive, as the company’s chief executive in an effort to improve relationships with advertisers. Mr Musk has struggled to marry his commitment to free speech, which he says was the reason he paid $44bn (£35bn) for Twitter last year, with demands from advertisers. He also said that the controversy would be likely to increase viewership of the video. He added that Twitter would update its systems on Friday so that those who follow The Daily Wire would see the video in their feeds. “Advertisers have the right to decide what content their ads appear with, which will impact reach to some degree,” he said. ![]() However, he said the film will not feature alongside Twitter advertising. “Whether or not you agree with using someone’s preferred pronouns, not doing so is at most rude and certainly breaks no laws.” Mr Musk said: “This was a mistake by many people at Twitter. The measures meant the film would not show up in algorithmic recommendations, even to people who follow the account, while the hateful conduct label means users must click through to watch it. He said that Twitter had refused to let the publication pay to advertise the film, would limit its reach and labelled it as “hateful conduct”. The exits came after Jeremy Boreing, the co-founder of The Daily Wire, said Twitter had backtracked on a deal to let the news site promote a feature-length documentary video about gender issues called What Is a Woman. Mr Brown’s departure was reported by the Wall Street Journal. Ms Irwin did not elaborate on her departure, but it came after Mr Musk said staff at the company had mistakenly limited the reach of a video by the conservative news organisation The Daily Wire. Two top Twitter safety executives have resigned from the company hours after Elon Musk criticised staff at the social network for cracking down on a video that “misgendered” trans people.Įlla Irwin, who has led Twitter’s trust and safety efforts for most of Mr Musk’s time in charge of Twitter, resigned from the company on Thursday night, while AJ Brown, its head of brand safety, has also left
